Bielefeld Coming: On Saturday, BVB Meets The Surprise Team Of The Bundesliga

[30.10.] The name Arminia Bielefeld is in everyone´s mouths. Their 5-1 victory against Aachen was also their highest margin of victory in a match in 24 years. It was their fourth victory of the season. They also have two draws and three losses for 14 points overall, putting the East Westfalen (Westfalia) club in fifth place at the quarter mark of the season. An Arminia team has never been this high in the standings. On Saturday, the Bielefelders visit BVB.

However, Bielefeld coach Thomas von Heesen´s team have taken 12 of their 14 points at home. Only Mönchengladbach has fewer away points. But Bielefeld has this going for them on road trips: They are hard to beat. They have suffered extremely tight defeats in Bochum, where they lost 2-1, but were the better team for phases of that match, and just 1-0 in Gladbach. They earned points with 1-1 draws in Hamburg and Nürnberg (Nuremberg) respectively.

BVB traditionally has trouble with Arminia. BVB has only won one of the past seven meetings. That win came in the last meeting in Dortmund, a safe 2-0 victory through goals from Koller and Smolarek.
