Shinji Kagawa put BVB 1-0 in front.
"When we return home, we expect results from the training," Jürgen Klopp said at the end of the training camp in Stegersbach. And his team put words into action and, in their third last pre-season game before the start of the season, beginning with the DFB Cup tie at Wacker Burghausen on 14 August, showed a determined and good first half team performance. However, unlike the previous games, on Wednesday night they didnīt manage to increase the pace after the break.

BVB had their first chance after only five minutes when Lewandowski, who played the solo striker role in Borussiaīs 4-2-3-1 formation, missed a free header from a cross by Kagawa. A few minutes later it was Grosskreutz who created the next opportunity for Borussia. The attacking midfielder drove into the box and released a powerful shot that forced Dynamo goalkeeper Kristen to make a fine save, finger tipping the ball over the bar (13 mins.). Kirsten showed his class again six minutes later when he diverted a Lewandowski shot for a corner.

The third-division needed almost 25 minutes to create their first chance. Weidenfeller misjudged a cross and Sahin had to clear the ball. The resulting corner then led to a goal on the break for Borussia. Lewandowski picked out Kagawa with a fine cross and the new signing from Japan scored with a perfect header, leaving Dresdenīs goalkeeper no chance (27). Lewandowski and Kuba could have doubled the lead shortly after but were brilliantly denied by Kirsten. BVB held a 5-1 corner kick advantage at half-time, but not only because of that took a well-deserved 1-0 lead into the break.

The Black īnī Yellows continued to control the match after the interval and should have put the game to bed early on.

Following a cross by Kuba, Lewandowski rocked the crossbar with a shot from 12 yards. Hajnal was there to pick up the rebound, but was denied by another great reflex save from the Dynamo goalkeeper (50). Five minutes later, substitute Götze found himself clear in front of goal, but Kirsten somehow managed to parry the shot with his left arm. Shortly after, Hajnal tried his luck with a lob from almost the halfway line, and this time Kirsten was lucky as he parried the shot on to the crossbar.

Dresden then snatched an equaliser out of the blue. After Weidenfeller managed to keep out a Bührer header from a corner, Gunderson was on hand to slot home the rebound (65). The home side then even pushed for the winner, and Hummels had to make a last-ditch tackle to keep the game on level terms. In the 76th minute BVB caught Dresden on the break with Kuba sending in a defence-splitting pass to Barrios who coolly slotted home to put the visitors into a 2-1 lead. Hajnal had the last chance of the game, but only found the side netting.

BVB: Weidenfeller - Owomoyela, Subotic, Hummels, Piszczek - Sahin (82. da Silva), Bender (72. Feulner) - Kuba (78. Hornschuh), Kagawa (46. Hajnal), Großkreutz (46. Götze) - Lewandowski (60. Barrios).
Goals: 0-1 Kagawa (27.), 1-1 Gundersen (65.), 1-2 Barrios (76.)
